We are the light, as Jesus is the Light. He is light by nature; we are light by grace. We appear as “lights in the world” in the midst of a crooked and pervese generation (Phil. 2:15). As such, we are to “hold fast/forth the word of life” (2:16).
We are also the aroma of Christ – 2 Corinthians 2:14-16. “Through us, God manifests the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Christ in every place.”

ARE YOU WALKING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE LORD?
Jesus tells His disciples: “Follow me” – Matthew 4:19. The first thing we need to do is follow Him to the waters of baptism. It’s only there that we accept Him and make Him our Lord. From His baptism, His footsteps led Him to temptation – Matthew 4. From the temptations, Christ’s footsteps led Him to worship His Father on a regular basis – Luke 4:16ff.
“Living each day by His holy word.” Thus we need to follow His word if we wish to walk in His footsteps – Matthew 7:24-27. Surrender to all the Words of Christ in the New Testament – “Follow the pattern of sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 1:13).
“Surrender completely – be His ‘through and through’.” What part is not immersed into Christ? My mind? My heart? My hands? My feet? My wallet? My time? Surrender completely? That is an awesome sacrifice! Matthew 16:24.

“Will you reach out to someone, just to see what you can do?” The footsteps of Jesus led Him to meet the needs of friends and family. Peter’s mother-in-law – Mark 1:29-31. His mother on His deathbed – John 26-27.
John 12:26 – “If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.”
