Are there prayers God will not hear?

READ Lk. 16:19-31.

THE RICH MAN DESCRIBED IN THE STORY JUST HEARD WAS IN A PERPETUAL STATE OF MISERY.

1) Knowing how people think and act, it seems likely this man had tried calling out to God at some point.
2) We do know this man had put himself into a position where God would not respond to his cries.
3) Any pleas from this man – no matter how small or sincere – were not going to receive a positive response.
4) There are times when God refuses to hear the people who call upon Him.
5) Isa. 55:6 – READ
6) In Hos. 5:6.
7) First, this prophet said people would “seek Jehovah.”
8) Hosea then said these seekers would NOT find the Lord.
9) The end of Hos. 5:6 says God would “withdraw” Himself from the people.
10) Lk. 13:25 –READ
11) These words sound pretty ominous; this Jesus is not the Jesus described by the world.
12) Verses 26-28 – READ
13) God will not hear the unsaved at certain times, one of which occurs after they die.

THE BIBLE ALSO TELLS US THAT GOD WILL NOT HEAR PEOPLE IN SOME SITUATIONS IF THEY HAVE CHOSEN TO BE REBELLIOUS.

5) This man did not say he was sorry for his sins and disobedience; he wanted relief from the pain he suffered.
6) Think about those who rejected God as king and requested an earthly king.
7) These Jews cried out to God because they didn’t like their new circumstances.
8) They did not call out to God because they were truly sorry for rejecting as their king..
9) Those in Jeremiah’s day who engaged in false worship – they also didn’t like the consequences they faced.
10) God has no desire to use His resources to help the insincere.
11) When God sees people who are not truly sincere, He says He is not inclined to help.
12) God will hear the cries from those who truly seek Him and are truly sincere.
13) God wants to truly help people, but people must be willing to come to Him on His terms.
14) People must also be willing to come while they still have life it their physical bodies.
15) How awful to live a life where the God of heaven says: I will not listen to your cries.
16) There are people right now that God will not listen to because of how they are living.
17) Are we one of these people?
